This valuable program prepares the student for employment in various health care settings such as hospitals, labs, clinics or blood banks. The student learns the various techniques of blood collection methods as well as specimen processing. Emphasis is placed on anatomy, infection control, safety issues, and communication for patient interactions. The course is a combination of 60 hours of classroom theory with lab and concludes with a minimum of 100 hours of Daytime internship in local hospitals and laboratories. Tuition includes textbook and certification test fee for the American Society for Clinical Pathology. Pre-test required.
